This incredibly gentle bar of Castile Soap is made with 100% Italian Olive Oil.  The origin of Castile soap goes back centuries to the region of Spain called Castilla.  During a time when  most soap was made with animal fat, the Castillians discovered the gentle cleansing properties that continue to make Castile soap in high demand today.  Olive Oil acts as a humectant by attracting  and holding water to the skin to form a breathable film that retains internal moisture. This soap contains no fragrance or other scent.  All you will smell is the olive oil.

Although this soap is slow to lather without a washcloth, a little work yields an abundance of rich, creamy suds mild enough for the most sensitive skin.  Castile soap is so gentle, it's often used as baby's first soap.

Why are Harvest Soaps more expensive than regular soap?
Harvest Soaps are made with soothing food grade plant oils from olives, almonds, and many other plants. We also use expensive plant extracted essential oils. Regular soaps are made with animal by-products and
chemicals that can be easily produced in large quantities.

Why are Harvest Soaps great for sensitive skin and people with allergies?
First of all, Harvest Soaps are made with very few ingredients compared to commercial soaps. This decreases the chance that there is an ingredient that can cause allergies. Our Castile Soap for example only contains saponified olive oil. The second reason is that many people are sensitive to the chemicals, preservatives or artificial fragrances that are present in regular soaps but not in Harvest Soaps.
